Check it out! We've got Kayla & Brett's Wedding blog up and ready to go!
Kayla & Brett picked one of the must fun and unique venues (in my opinion) in the Central New York area... Apple Country Retreat in Lafayette, NY just up the road from Beak & Skiff! Because of that, their theme was rustic and country! I just loved the "I Do" on the bottom of Kayla's boot!
Apple Country Retreat Bed & Breakfast has a surprising number of gorgeous suites in it! Kayla got ready in the Bridal Suite which was perfect!
The venue has a barn look and feel from both the inside and outside with all this exposed beams and rustic decor. But there is nothing rough or unfinished here! This huge place also has a beautiful swimming pool, fountain and gorgeous landscaping all around. It truly feels like a retreat here... enough of a retreat that I am definitely looking for an open weekend on my calendar to stay there!
Introducing Brett... the lucky groom!
Kayla has always loved horses and arranged for her and her father to come in on a horse drawn carriage.
We were a little worried before the ceremony as it had continued to rain on and off, but once we had decided to hold the ceremony outside for sure, the sprinkles held off and Kayla and Brett were all smiles!
I just couldn't resist posting this adorable ring bearer... or in this case, a flag bearer!
A kiss for the horse...
And a kiss for the groom!
Later on in the afternoon, we drove to the property that Brett and Kayla own where they'll be building a house in the future! Thankfully we had taken a 4 wheel drive vehicle as we made our way "off road" up the hill to this gorgeous spot! Totally added to their country feel!
Eric from Cool Cat Entertainment did an AMAZING job to get the party at the reception started! Not only did he start the party, he engaged the guests, mixed and melded various songs together and kept the energy high all evening.
A tribute to Brett's love of hunting and the outdoors...
Yes, rain can definitely make things complicated on a wedding day but it can also bring rainbows!!!
This is one of my favorite, "real" photos of the day. A true country girl , Kayla had kicked her shoes off and was wandering all over with out them!!! A girl after my own heart!
Also with rain comes clouds... which always makes sunsets more stunning!
Andrew and I are so excited for you and Brett! We honestly had so much fun at your wedding! Congratulations!
