Lake Wedding Venue | Eric & Emilie

Bridal Getting Ready

Welcome to Eric and Emilie’s lake wedding venue blog post! They had the sweetest, intimate wedding this past weekend at Belhurst Castle.

I was so proud of these two for sticking to the wedding they really wanted. Both Emilie and Eric are introverts and wanted to keep their wedding to a small size.

Their guest list ended up being about 50 people and at the end of the day, Emilie, who was all smiles, told me that the day had been perfect… exactly what they both wanted!

If I remember right, Emilie’s hairpiece on the right was her grandma’s!

Before we go any further, I want to point out that Emilie and her bridesmaid’s bouquets as well as the florals on the ceremony arch and on the reception tables were skillfully arranged by Sinicropi Florist in Seneca Falls!

These two decided to write each other a letter that will not be opened until their 5th wedding anniversary. When that day comes, it’ll be a sweet reminder of what they admire and love about each other! The letters were placed in the box during their wedding ceremony.

This precious pearl necklace was also given to Emilie by her grandma. She said that she got two pearls every birthday until she was 18. With her string of pearls, she had the perfect necklace to wear on her wedding day.

If you weren’t tearing up yet, the veil that Emilie wore was the one her mom wore on her wedding day! This very light, unadorned veil was as elegant as any but flew much better than most I’ve photographed! If you’re looking for a photogenic veil, consider one that doesn’t have a lot of detailing or beading like Emilie’s!

Bride & Bridesmaid’s Portraits at Castle and Lake

Emilie’s bridesmaids were extra fun adding lots of jokes and laughs along the way. I love meeting a couple’s friends! But in the case of one of the bridesmaids AnnMarie, she and I have known each other for over 10 years and it was a blast reconnecting with her again!

Can I comment again on Emilie’s veil?? SO photogenic not to mention Emilie herself!

You know you have good friends when they’re willing to bend down to gather up the train of your dress and veil, even though they’re in high heels and and a dress themselves!

I loved being able to highlight the actual water at this lake wedding venue. Sometimes the light doesn’t cooperate and the lake ends up looking really over exposed but because of the clouds, we were able to get lots of the lake in the background of their pictures!

Isn’t Emilie gorgeous?!

Choosing loyal and fun friends to be in your bridal party… clutch!

Groom Getting Ready

Here’s Eric… all dressed up and ready to get married!

My favorite way to cull photo from a wedding is to have Andrew at my side when I do it. As I culled the photos he took of Eric and his groomsmen I just kept saying, “Babe, I love these! I love the expressions on Eric’s face, I love this angle, I love the foreground in the portraits, I love the detail shots and your composition!”

Groom & Groomsmen Portraits

And here are the groomsmen!… two were Emilie’s brothers and Eric’s cousin who’s currently studying in the US but came all the way from Singapore!

Here’s another one of my favorites of Eric! He’s standing there so perfectly casual! But the lighting, the foreground and background of this makes it so visually interesting!

This smile… the same way he lights up when he sees Emilie!

Love this one of the groomsmen outside the front of Belhurst Castle, this lake wedding venue!

Lake Wedding Ceremony

The wedding ceremony was held behind the castle at this lake wedding venue on their lawn!

Here’s Emilie and her dad coming down the aisle!…

… and Eric’s expressions as he sees her coming!

Reverend Cathleen Brauen of Life’s Mysteries WNY was the officiant for the ceremony!

The pure joy on their faces…

The exchanging of rings!

Their kiss at the altar was adorable!

I now pronounce you Mr. & Mrs.!

The Wedding Party and Bride & Groom Photos at Lake

After the wedding ceremony we did photos of the bride, groom and their wedding party!

Even though their wedding was held at the end of June, believe it or not, it was rather chilly! I don’t think it got above 55 or 60 and it was quite windy. But the wind gave us lots of opportunity to use Emilie’s veil!

I just love this one of them walking along the side of the lake with her veil flowing out behind them!

Lunch Reception

Our photography coverage for this wedding actually began at 7am! Because their ceremony was at 10, their reception meal was lunch! And because it was a smaller wedding, they were able to fit their celebration inside Belhurst’s restaurant Edgars! The Solarium and the Music Room were the perfect spot for dining and dancing!

Here is their First Dance as husband and wife!

The Parent Dances were also so sweet with the Father Daughter and Mother Son dance happening at the same time.

One of the cutest cake cuttings I’ve seen this year!

Eric and his brother!

Sunny Portraits

As their wedding was coming to a close, the clouds rolled away and the sun came out! I LOVED that Eric and Emilie were willing to do a few more photos in the sunshine! Sunny portraits are my absolute favorite because it brings a visual and physical warmth to the photos that I think exemplifies the love the couple has for each other!

I have SO many favorite photos from Eric and Emilie’s lake wedding venue but this would have to be my favorite “expression filled” photo of the day!

They couldn’t be any more adorable, could they?

Thank you so much for coming by to celebrate with Eric and Emilie via their lake wedding venue blog post! It truly was an honor for Andrew and I to be a part of their sweet and intimate wedding. Thank you for allowing us to be a part! We are so excited for you two as you begin your married lives together!
