You've dropped in at just the right time to see Tommy and Joleen's wedding blog post from Turning Stone Resort and Casino! Welcome!
Let me introduce you to Joleen, the bride. Joleen first made contact with me last summer via email but then gave me a call one day. I was sitting on the couch, feeding my three week old son and looking at my ringing phone, not recognizing the number and trying to decide if I had had enough sleep to have a coherent conversation with whoever was on the other end. I'm so glad I did as Joleen essentially said she'd like to work together for her wedding!
Turning Stone has this new room located in the Lodge they call the Bridal Ready room and its amazing! With four different stations for girls getting their hair or makeup done, cubbies and hangers for each bridesmaid, a big area in the back of the room to get dressed and lots of large windows for ample light, it makes for a very comfortable place to get ready!
The Wedding Rings, Wedding Invitation and other Fun Details!
Right off the bat, I had so much respect for Joleen and her fiance Tommy as she shared that she serves in the Air Force and that Tommy is an Army Ranger. In fact, I wasn't able to meet with them in person until a few weeks before the wedding because she was stationed in the Middle East from October to April. Both of them have served long enough that they are just a few years shy of retiring.
Aannndddd... this is Tommy. No introduction needed. He... isn't shy. 'Nough said.
The First Look
I think these two have the sweetest, goofiest, fun relationship of almost any couple I have ever had the privilege of photographing.
The Bridal Party watches from a distance!
Most of Tommy's Groomsmen are Rangers as well... beers all around!
And then we ventured out under an umbrella!
Hands down my FAVORITE shot of Joleen and Tommy... and it's not even one I took! All credit goes to Andrew for this one!
If you thought you needed to worry about tangling with all those Rangers, be sure you don't mess with these guys!... the Ring Security dudes! Tommy's two sons could not have been any cuter!
Joleen's two daughter's couldn't have been any more awesome either!
Tommy certainly got a kick out of their entrance as well!
The Bride and her Father
Then the doors open... and there stands his bride
They wrote their own vows., they were fantastic and so... THEM!
Check out that foot pop!
Their ice sculptures... one for Army, one for Air Force and one for the Marines and Joleen's dad who served.
The awesome DJ'ing, uplighting and monogram on the floor were provided by Jason with Black Tie Entertainment!

The Wedding Cake and Coolest Cake Topper Ever!
And an epic cake smash. I just love the smug look on Joleen's face when she's gotten Tommy!
Spying on the photo booth!
And let me tell you!... it was a par.ty.
We ended the evening with a few sweet night time shots. This fireplace one is Andrew's!
Confession... I wanted to say something to Tommy and Joleen ALL day, and even to the others there who are in the military. At risk of sounding cheesy, uninformed, or jaded, I didn't. I'm sure I'll never have any idea the things that you do for me, for my family, my friends, and our country. I'll probably never know how hard it is to be away from my spouse and my kids for such a long period of time. I'll never know the sacrifices you make to do what you do. In the sincerest way I can, I want to thank you. I am glad to have gotten to know you just a bit and to be able spend your wedding day with you. Andrew and I truly had fun with you all!
Congratulations to you both! May your marriage be long and blessed and just as much fun as your wedding day was!
