Welcome to Darek and Kathleen's wedding blog! This is one of the most classic, vintage weddings I have ever done and their attention to detail was just amazing! As soon as I saw Kathleen's wedding dress, I just fell in love with it! It is one of the most unique wedding dresses I've ever seen! I told her that if I were to get married again, I would definitely choose this one to wear... that's how much I loved it!
The wedding flowers were also the most unique and beautiful that I've seen in a long time! So whimsical yet elegant!
As I was taking Kathleen's portraits I turned around and saw all the girls there with their iPhones... I could not pass up the opportunity to capture this moment as well! The posed and the candid moments, the staged and the impromptu, all make a beautiful wedding story in pictures!
Kathleen and Darek not only got ready at the Genesee Grande Hotel but their reception was also held there. And let me tell you how amazing the Genesee Grande was, from the friendliness of Jamie and his event coordination staff, to the deliciousness of the food and the way it was presented (even the bride was impressed!), to the grandeur of the grounds itself. As a Syracuse wedding photographer, I shoot all over Syracuse and the surrounding areas and I'm pretty sure I've never been so impressed by a wedding venue. If you're getting married and the Genesee Grande looks like the style you're going with, please do yourself a favor and check them out!
And here is Darek... all ready to meet his bride!
This group of groomsmen certainly knew how to have a good time!
Happy tears as the bride comes down the aisle...
A few sweet exchange of words...
Exchanging of the Rings
I now pronounce you Mr. & Mrs!!! I just LOVE the look on Kathleen's face!
And on Darek's!
The bride and groom had a specific request... they really wanted to get a few quick pictures outside of Shifty's where they had their very first date. I couldn't help but include it here in the blog since its so nostalgic.
The Wedding Party
While it may have been a little warm on their wedding day, the sunshine created such nice light for their photos!
I can just hear Kathleen, "Come on Darek, its time to go party!"
The First Dance
A Toast by the Matron of Honor...
and the Best Man
And this amazing and gorgeous wedding cake was done by Biscotti Cafe on Salina Street! If you want a wedding cake that is guaranteed to look AND taste amazing, call Biscotti's. I know I keep saying in this blog, "this is my favorite and THIS is my favorite" but its just the honest truth. Kathleen and Darek put all the right pieces together for the perfect wedding day experience!
And the dance party!... oh my goodness... I even asked Andrew and he agrees that this is the best wedding dance party we've ever witnessed! It wouldn't have been possible without Humphrey DJ Service who not only knew the right songs to play but he mixed them and transitioned from one song to the next like they originally written to go together!
After all that amazing dancing, we made sure to get a few night time shots! Congratulations to both you, Kathleen and Darek! It was a pleasure spending the day with you all and being able to witness your happiness and fun!
